Refunds & ticket policy

Where tickets are sold, how to move yours to another date, and what happens if you cancel.

01

Where tickets are sold

Most Cape Town Jacks tickets are sold online through FIXR. A limited number may be bought at the door, subject to capacity, by card only — we do not accept cash.

FIXR processes online payments, and their terms of sale apply alongside this policy.

02

Refunds, transfers and what we deduct

If you cannot make a session you have two options: move your ticket to another date at no charge, or cancel for a refund. Moving it is free and is what we would rather you did. A refund depends on how much notice you give, and has two deductions.

  • FIXR’s booking fee. On a R250 ticket booked online, R21.52 is FIXR’s fee for processing the sale. That money goes to FIXR, not to us, and we cannot refund it.
  • Bank and payment-processing charges. The charge levied on the original payment and on the refund itself is deducted, because it is money the bank has taken and we never receive.

Everything else is set out below. Section 17 of the Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008 gives you the right to cancel an advance booking without giving a reason, and allows us to keep a reasonable amount for the spot that was held for you. We may not keep anything if you cannot attend because of the death or hospitalisation of the person the ticket was for; see section 06.

03

Moving your ticket to another date

Email info@capetownjacks.co.za before the session starts and we will move your ticket to a future session at no charge. Tell us the name on the booking, the date you booked and your FIXR booking reference if you have one.

There is no deduction and no second booking fee. Ask in good time and it is never a problem.

This has to happen before the event. Once a session has started or passed, the ticket is used up and cannot be moved. The room was held, staffed and paid for on the night.

04

Cancelling for a refund

Cancel by email to info@capetownjacks.co.za, or through the contact form. What we can return is calculated from the session start time, and the deductions in section 02 apply in every case:

  • More than 7 days’ notice: the full ticket price is refunded.
  • 48 hours to 7 days’ notice: half the ticket price is refunded, or move to another date at no charge, whichever you prefer.
  • Less than 48 hours’ notice: no refund, but we will still move you to a future session if you ask before the session starts.

Sessions are small and capped. A spot cancelled a week out can be filled; one cancelled the same afternoon usually cannot, which is why the amount changes with notice rather than being a flat rule.

05

Transferring your ticket

You may transfer your ticket to another adult man who meets our entry requirements, at no charge, provided you tell us the new guest’s name before the door list closes.

You must make sure he has read and understood the Bro Code before he attends. Tickets may not be resold at a profit or advertised publicly for resale.

06

If you are unwell

Do not attend if you are sick or infectious. Nobody should feel financially pressured into showing up unwell.

Email info@capetownjacks.co.za before the session starts and we will move your ticket to another date at no cost, whatever notice you were able to give.

Death or hospitalisation. If you cannot attend because the person the ticket was for has died or been admitted to hospital, we will refund the ticket price in full with no cancellation charge, as section 17(5) of the Consumer Protection Act requires, even if the session has already taken place. We may ask for reasonable proof, which we will not keep once the refund is done.

07

If we cancel or move an event

If we cancel an event, you receive a full refund of the ticket price and the booking fee, or a credit towards a future session, whichever you prefer.

If we change the date, time or venue, you may either keep your ticket for the new date or take a full refund. We will contact ticket holders using the details supplied at purchase as soon as we reasonably can.

08

Late arrival and no-shows

Doors open at the advertised start time and close strictly 40 minutes later. There is no late entry, and no refund is payable if you arrive after doors close or do not arrive at all.

This is not about being difficult. A session that keeps opening the door does not settle, and the men already inside paid for the space to settle.

09

Refusal of entry and removal

No refund is payable where a guest is refused entry or removed for breaching the Bro Code or our terms, including where a guest cannot confirm that he is 18 or older, arrives intoxicated, or ignores another guest’s boundaries.

10

How to arrange a transfer or refund

Email info@capetownjacks.co.za, or use the contact form, with the name on the booking, the session date and your FIXR booking reference if you have one. Say whether you would like to move to another date or cancel.

Do this before the session starts. We aim to acknowledge every message within 3 working days, to confirm a new date straight away, and to process an approved refund within 14 days to the original payment method.

11

Your statutory rights

Nothing in this policy limits your rights under the Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008 or any other law.

If you believe a charge we have applied is unreasonable, raise it with us first. If we cannot resolve it, you may refer the matter to the Consumer Goods and Services Ombud or the National Consumer Commission.
